Nayelly Lozano - Academic Speaking

Public Speaking course took place from November 28th, 2015 to February 13th, 2016. It was given by Ms Yolanda CantĂș. In that course we were preparing a speech that we presented in front of a jury. First, we watched some videos of other people’s speeches, such as politicians or leaders, in order to see the way they talked and they moved when they were talking, their expressions and security that transmitted with their words. Secondly, we started to do some relaxation exercises, to learn how to manage stress and nervous, and be secure.

Finally, we started to research information in order to make our speech. When we finished making it, we memorized the information and started practice how to say it. We had a lot of feedback of our class mates and our teacher and tried to improve it. My speech was about the situation of migration nowadays. I defined what migration is, also I gave migration’s statistics in the world and some of their characteristics such as that it is a human right and a goal in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations.
